As a new year begins in Guwahati, it's a good time to honour the amazing leaders in the Guwahati Police and Assam Police. These leaders like esteemed sirs such as DGP Assam, Shri GP Singh, IPS; Commandant General of Home Guards, Shri SN Singh, IPS; and Special DG (HQ), Shri Harmeet Singh, IPS, have been really strong in making the police better and stronger.

They've been really smart in making the police more modern. They've used new technology while keeping important values like honesty, hard work, and caring for others. Because of their great ideas, the police have become better at their job, and they encourage officers to work with bravery, kindness, and strong dedication.

The people who used to lead the Police Communications of APRO, esteemed Director of Police Communication sirs like BN Saikia, Kamaleswar Deka, and PM Dastidar, also did a lot for the police. They worked really hard to improve how the police talk with each other using technology, keeping communication security paramount. Their work has made the police stronger and better at working together.

All these leaders have made it important for the police to be part of the community and to try to stop crimes before they happen, literally called nipping in the bud. They've helped the police face many problems and work well with the people they protect. It's really important to remember that everyone who worked with these leaders also played a big part in making the police better. Together, these leaders have shown strength, togetherness, camaraderie, and a strong promise to keep Guwahati safe and growing. Their work will always be remembered for keeping Guwahati a safe and better place to live.

The Guwahati Police, led by Commissioner Shri Diganta Barah, IPS, are akin to the stars in the sky that maintain order in the city or the dark matter that keeps the Milky Way galaxy in order. Under his guidance, the Guwahati Police ensure that rules are followed and everyone stays safe. Their story revolves around hard work and bravery to assist the people living here. When faced with challenges, they employ new technology to ensure Guwahati remains a safe place to live.

As Guwahati moves forward, the police are always at the front, working really hard to make sure everyone here is okay. They really care about helping people, whether it's managing traffic or dealing with safety issues.

In 2024, the Guwahati Police are ready to keep doing their important work, staying strong and flexible to keep the city safe in a way that's easy for everyone to understand, like on social media, where the positive responses have been vividly reflected in the reactions of citizens. This year, the Assam Police want to make the community stronger, make things safer, and make sure everyone trusts the police, especially with new challenges popping up.

They're like protectors, guiding the city through hard times and good times, making sure everyone feels safe. Guwahati has a long history that's blending with the changes happening now. It's growing into a big city with lots of businesses, schools, and technology, but it also remembers where it came from and tries to keep that history alive while moving ahead.

Officers and personnel of the Assam Police Radio Organisation (APRO) play an immensely critical role in facilitating police communication, headed by IGP (C) Shri Akhilesh Kumar Singh, IPS. Captive and secured communication stands as a pivotal element within the infrastructure of law enforcement. It's an indispensable component that enables the police force to efficiently deliver their services.

Police communication is like the heartbeat of good policing. It's a special, super-safe network that links up officers wherever they are, letting them share information quickly and securely. This isn't just chatting—it's about passing on really important details, working together quickly, and planning well. Besides keeping it safe from tech threats such as man-in-the-middle attacks, etc., there are other things that make police talk safe, like cipher, call signs, and something called PWCC.

In the realm of law enforcement, the ability to communicate securely is paramount. It ensures confidentiality, preventing sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. This secure network also allows for quick decision-making, which is vital in emergency situations, elections, VVIP & VIP movements or while addressing ongoing threats.

Moreover, efficient police communication contributes significantly to proactive crime prevention and effective response mechanisms. It aids in tracking criminal activities, sharing intelligence, and deploying resources promptly to mitigate risks and maintain public safety.

The advancements and enhancements made in police communication systems by dedicated proposed reorganisations like APRO not only modernise the force but also elevate its operational efficiency. These developments not only bolster the effectiveness of individual officers but also strengthen the collective capacity of the entire police force.

Ultimately, police communication isn't just about technology; it's about ensuring that officers have the tools they need to serve and protect the community effectively. It's an integral part of the infrastructure that empowers law enforcement to function cohesively and respond adeptly to the evolving challenges they face.
